I absolutely loved this 2nd chance/enemies to lover’s romance. The history between Lexi and Sterling just added an additional level of depth to their situation. They were so intense together. Angry, combative, and yet the chemistry was off the charts. I enjoyed the whole story from the way they came together with their ruse to their happy reunion after the wedge that drove them apart, including their fun use of bathrooms at the end. I don't know how you do Elle, but you have. I absolutely love Dax and Rose. This book had me gripped from Elektra King/ Renard: Both are motivated by some wrong that M had committed against them in the past and intended to kill her. In both cases, M took the option most dictated by duty rather than compassion or loyalty. Both Elektra/Renard and Silva remotely set off explosions in the Vauxhall Building, the official headquarters of MI6. Ms Lacey said it is a human trait to want to point the finger of blame or to punish Mr Silver for not taking his medication but, she said, the law doesn’t allow that. She said there is no evidence that Mr Silver bore a “grudge” against gardaí or that he ever acted aggressively towards gardaí when he was well.Dax Silver, head of the UK’s largest gin distillery, is as captivating as he is intense, his skin covered in ink, his eyes stained with secrets. Dax is a tattooed “bad boy” in England who with his sister were orphaned when he became an adult & had to take care of his sister & his grandparents company. He then went to jail protecting his younger sister from a creepy man who also ends up being his rival in business.
Raoul Silva was a young, tall and a bit muscular man with peroxide long blonde hair which was parted to the right and blue eyes; both were probably not natural. He wore a prosthetic upper jaw to conceal the damage done by the failed cyanide capsule; without it, his left cheek collapsed, causing his lower eyelid to droop as well, and he was left with only a few stubs of teeth which were grey with decay. But, Ms Lacey added: “What wasn’t before you was formal proof in relation to his membership of An Garda Síochána and the law is that the prosecution must prove each and every element beyond a reasonable doubt and yet, there are discrepancies that are not yet explained.” She told the jury that the issue of membership is a matter for them. Ms Lacey said there was further evidence of Mr Silver engaging in abnormal behaviour and having delusional beliefs in the days and hours leading up to the shooting. After a chase at the station near where M's deposition is taking place, Silva is successfully able to evade Bond at the end of the chase by using his police radio to detonate an underground bomb that causes an incoming train to derail, almost crushing Bond. She told the jury that it is his level of culpability that is in issue, and she asked them to look at the evidence of Dr Wright who said that Mr Silver was mentally unwell secondary to non-compliance with his medication. I wanna cry so that I can mourn the hours that I lost reading this story, cause this was not a good one. Okay, so hear me out. It did start out good, and had some potential, but then it just went downhill! She said Mr Silver had stuffed tissue up his nose which he then chewed and spat out, put his toes in his mouth, ate the contents of his ear, took on a contorted position while staring at gardaí, breathed heavily and slapped his stomach. She said the only bizarre behaviours mentioned by Prof Kennedy were that Mr Silver whistled, sang and played with the window blinds. Upon the film's release, Javier Bardem received widespread global critical acclaim for his performance, and role as a menacing Bond villain. Many 007 fans and critics noted strong similarities with Heath Ledger's The Joker from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008). Esquire Magazine ranked Silva #9 in the list of James Bond Villains, saying, "Played with unhinged, eccentric anger, Silva is a Bond villain for the 21st century. He's a tragic monster, a sympathetic villain driven by personal hatred and rage, not world domination." [11] I can’t say too much more because I don’t want to give away any spoilers but there is a big plot twist at the end of the book that I didn’t expect at all! But what you as the reader can expect is to see betrayal, undercover work, & love in this book. You’ll also see past characters mentioned from previous books. First I fell in lust with exceptional dirty talker, Griffin Parker. Then I swooned over NYC Mayor, Reed Walker. And now I’m dehydrated over dark and possessive, Dax Silver. Istg every book Elle writes hooks me even harder than the last and Time With Mr Silver was a little darker than the previous books in this series. Rose has a lot of heavy trauma that she’s carried for a long time and she believes that love isn’t real, it’s simply a chemical reaction. Enter her hot, tatted and pierced [did I mention he was pierced? 👀] new boss, who doesn’t want to taint her with his darkness. But they literally can’t keep their hands off each other, at home, at the office, outdoors, in a hot air balloon, at a tattoo parlour - you get the picture. Their chemistry and tension is combustible 🔥 Dax is everything Rose has never had from a romantic partner and he forces her to see herself the way he sees her. He’s patient, loving and gentle with Rose, whilst also making her accept hard truths about herself. One thing Rose asks for is honesty, but Dax is keeping some pretty big secrets that have the potential to ruin them. I felt stressed towards the end for a hot minute, my heart was beating so fast and I genuinely felt nauseous over them. But the grovel is soo good 🫠 Rose really makes Dax work for her and their relationship, and Dax is more than willing to fight for the both of them. I loved the cameos from previous characters and Dax and Rose’s friendship group is everything. I can’t wait for book 8 and that MMC, but I do need a little softness after Mr. Silver!!
His violent, threatening and aggressive behaviour in the past had always been when he was “extremely mentally unwell,” she said. She said it is also extremely unlikely that Mr Silver remembered Garda Horkan from an incident in 2003 when he helped to bring Mr Silver to a psychiatric hospital. Having left Bond behind, this had allowed Silva to reach the chapel and approach M while Kincade is coincidentally out of sight and upon the latter coming out, with Silva firing a warning shot at the jamb of the side-room of the chapel and holding Kincade at gunpoint, warning the latter of not to interfere as the latter raised his hands in fear. Despite his hatred for her, Silva appeared worried when he saw M's bleeding and fatal wound, but nonetheless held a gun onto her head. When he struggled to execute her himself, he forced the gun into her hand, placing his head beside hers and demanding that she kill both him and herself with a single bullet through their heads. At this point, Silva's psyche seems to have shattered even more.Dax is an interesting and complex character who starts off really closed off but once he falls for Rose he falls hard. He’s fighting his own demons, but together they’re a beautiful couple- absolutely perfect for each other. She said the prosecution had provided no explanation for a discrepancy between the date when Gda Horkan’s identification card was issued and the date on which he was said to have been attested as a garda.
